“Klettern” magazine tested down filled sleeping bag for its latest issue. Our Ultralite 500 was one of the candidates.

The test result:

Price conscious gram chasers that enjoy snug fitting sleeping bags will love the Exped Ultralite. It weighs in at a low 770 grams but boasts strong insulating properties. The generous hood wins points for good fit. And the high quality goose down (840+ cuin) combined with a clean finish of the bag warrant years of duty. Only the fine short zipper that reaches the knees should be treated with caution, but this is something that applies to other manufacturers of lightweight bags as well. The size M bag fits users up to 180 cm. The bag is rather tight in the torso section and normal in the leg part. The bag comes in 4 sizes S-XL.

Conclusion: Those looking for a high performance, snug and lightweight sleeping bag that does not cost a fortune will find their bag in the Exped Ultralite.
