Exped DownMat 7 – the down filled mat for the cold seasons

Outings in the cold seasons have their appeal but also come with challenges to your gear. What works perfectly on a warm summer night hits its limits in winter. Standard airpads are no equal to this insulated airmat ideal for winter use.

We don’t know if an American super computer or a star in the whale constellation had anything to do with the name of the tent. What we do know is that the Swiss inventors at Exped put a lot of thought into the design of the Mira II. Weighing only 2.07 kg (including accessories and repair kit) it offers floor space of 2.15 x 1.25 meters which is enough for 2 adults and thanks to a ridge pole in the canopy sitting height in most parts of the tent. During the 4 week testing period it withstood heavy rainstorms and the zippers survived the constant contact with sand effortlessly.
