Tips and Tricks

Ergo Hammock

  • When setting up the hammock, hang it up so the green marking is on the right and the red marking on the left as this will point the entrance towards you.

  • We recommend you set up the tarp first in rain as this will keep the hammock dry. If the tarp is wet after teardown, store it in the stuffsack with the wet cords and place the hammock separately in your pack to keep it dry.

  • To keep the hammock in swinging motion, tie a cord to a root or branch and use it to pull yourself into motion.

Other style hammocks

  • Lay into the hammock diagonally if you wish to lie as horizontally as possible.

  • To keep the hammock in swinging motion, tie a cord to a root or branch and use it to pull yourself into motion.

  • Whatever style knot you decided to use, it is recommended that you wrap the rope end around multiple times as this distributes the force better and allows the knot to be undone more easily later.

  • The hammock can also be used as a hanging seat: tie a knot into the fabric on the long side opposite the side with the attached packsack. We recommend using a figure of eight knot as it can easily be undone.
