It’s been a long time coming and a heck of a lot of planning and negotiating, but Exped USA's move to the city of Tacoma has been completed.
 

While all of us here at Exped wish we could go to work in the wilderness each day, we haven’t yet figured out how to do it. 
 

Here's excerpt #3 from our conversation with alpinist and Exped ambassador Graham Zimmerman. Graham is a friend of ours who just happens to be one of the world's great alpinists. He's always full of interesting insights. 

 

On October 14th Stephan Siegrist (SUI), Julian Zanker (SUI), and Thomas Huber (GER) stood atop the granite giant in Kashmir. They are the fourth team that was able to climb this mountain via a spectacular line. Their goal was the yet unclimbed central north-west face of Cerro Kishtwar. Exped supported the successful team with four tents, two Orion II Extreme for the BC and two Polaris single wall tents for the ABC.

"The Traverse 40 has what Exped calls a Switchback frame, that lets you curve the frame of the backpack on demand in order to increase the amount of ventilation between the pack and your back. 

Not too far from the Seattle area, where Exped USA makes its home, are the beautiful San Juan Islands. We like to escape to them often, with hiking boots, kayaks, canoes, hammocks and in this case, bikes.
