LABOUR CONDITIONS

Exped products are exclusively manufactured by highly specialized companies whose factories are industry leaders with the highest levels of workforce and management

expertise. To maintain high-quality manufacturing and a highly trained production team, these companies offer their employees progressive working and employment conditions.

We hold longstanding and close partnerships with our suppliers and coordinate our production plan closely with them. This enables the factories to manufacture with a minimum of overtime and helps ensure that production processes are not outsourced to facilities we are not familiar with. We personally inspect all factories on a regular basis and maintain a high degree of communication.

ANIMAL WELFARE

Exped and the entire supply chain involved are certified under the "Responsible Down Standard" (RDS). RDS follows stringent animal welfare guidelines and warrants that all sourced down originates from producers that do not live-pluck or force-feed the birds.

Down is the only material of animal origin in the Exped product range. All down-free products are completely vegan.

PACKAGING

All Exped packaging is reduced to a minimum and is made of recyclable, glue-free cardboard. This reduces the amount of resources needed, contributes to cleaner air as the packaging does not need to be burned and does not add to the huge amount of plastics that contaminate our oceans. Certain accessories in our range are packaged in reusable zippered pouches.

As expertly as our partners in the specialty retail stores cater to the end customer, we stand behind our products and support our dealers and consumers with a competent and trustworthy after-sales service.

WARRANTY / CUSTOMER SERVICE

Exped mats, tents and packsacks designated UL (ultralite) or HL (hyperlite) carry a two-year limited warranty.

All other products carry a five-year warranty on materials and workmanship. At its discretion, Exped will repair or replace any part that fails due to a manufacturing defect. Failures due to normal wear, negligence, accidents and acts of nature can be repaired for a nominal charge. Warranties and repairs are handled in-house in our own workshops. This feedback and the resulting statistics are a valuable source of information for improvements and innovation in order to create lasting products.

We prefer to perform repairs and extend the life of Exped products, rather than disposing of damaged gear. We have built a reputation for outstanding customer service and always look forward to helping our partners and customers.
