Very near (too near?) the EXPED USA office in Seattle is an excellent brewery called Georgetown Brewing Company. These folks make great beer - this cannot be debated. Their Flagship Manny's Pale Ale is the go-to brew for the entire Pacific Northwest. Read on...

But in addition to making tasty beer, these people have a deeply generous spirit. Among their many fundraisers is the annual brewing of Bob's Brown Ale in memory of their friend who died of cancer. Bob's "is brewed once a year and released every May 14th (Bob's birthday). 100% of the proceeds from Bob's are donated in honor of Charles "Bob" Hirsch to the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Western Washington and Alaska to provide a "home away from home" for Children's Hospital patients and families." So it's not just good beer over at GTB, there is much more to the story.

GTB also takes good care of their employees and this year Exped got to be a small part of that goodness. GTB's holiday gift to all their employees was a Torrent 30 pack with the GTB logo right there alongside the Exped logo. Now in Seattle, where beer is a big deal, this is a special thing. For the EXPED USA team it's like having our logo on a Boeing airplane, a Macklemore album cover or a Seattle Seahawks 12th Man flag. We are honored! So when you see those packs around Seattle make sure you wave and say thanks to the hard working GTB employee who helps bring us that great beer.

[That's Ted, our sales guy, outside GTB after we did a pack clinic for the staff to make sure they know about all the details of the Torrent 30. Yes, that's beer in his hand...]
