Climbing Kili is an amazing experience and our friends Gina and Warren had a great time on their recent trip to the top of Africa. Pole-pole (slowly-slowly in Swahili)!

They chose Exped's Traverse 40 and Skyline 25 packs to carry their personal gear on the trip. These packs are built with our Switchback suspension system, which allows rapid switching between a close-to-the-back fit when agility is needed and a more curved, ventilation mode when the wearer is sweating on the uphill trail. Both of these modes are necessary on a climb of Kilimanjaro.

Here are a few videos describing them and the surprisingly effective Switchback system:

Traverse is essentially a top-loading version of Skyline and it has a little bit more capacity. Same suspension system, same zipper-accessed main compartment. Here it is:

Skyline is a fully panel loading pack:

Weight transfer to the hips is excellent. Its internal frame is a combination of a frame sheet and spring steel stays, which make the curvature possible when the velcro switch-band is engaged. There's a very comfortable hip belt and all next-to-body surfaces are mesh for quick-drying and cool performance.
