EXPED x POW: team outing to the Rhone glacier
1400 Swiss glaciers. 1400 reasons to stand up for climate protection. Because: Switzerland's glaciers are literally melting away due to the climate crisis.
Because: Switzerland's glaciers are literally melting away due to the climate crisis.
The EXPED team set off from Zurich by train and post bus to the Furka Pass. Their destination: the Rhone Glacier - once the largest glacier in the Alps. Equipped with crampons and a rope, we made our way across the bare ice - past glacier mills, raging meltwater streams across crevasses, right into the centre of a rugged icy landscape.
But this excursion was more than just an impressive team event. As a Swiss manufacturer of mountain sports and outdoor equipment, the protection of our natural environment, the Alps and their glaciers, is particularly important to us. That is why we are supporting the nationwide campaign by POW - Protect Our Winters.
We want to set an example
Together with many others from the outdoor community, we want to set an example with our glacier tour:
- For immediate and consistent climate protection.
- For the preservation of our alpine landscapes.
- And for the responsibility we bear towards future generations.
Because every step on the ice reminds us how precious - and how vulnerable - our nature is.
