POW glacier campaign becomes a petition
Together with POW, EXPED is calling for effective climate protection measures from politicians: emissions that are caused in Switzerland must also be reduced here. Sign the petition now!
As a Swiss outdoor brand, we are deeply connected to the beauty of our Alpine landscape. But climate change is throwing this ecosystem out of balance: glaciers are melting rapidly, permafrost is thawing and landslides are becoming more frequent. As outdoor enthusiasts, we are experiencing these changes at first hand.
That's why, together with POW (Protect our Winters Switzerland), we are calling for effective climate protection measures in Switzerland that make a difference here and now. Following the "1400 Reasons to Act" campaign, POW is now going one step further and launching its first petition, "Keep Swiss Glaciers cool".
With effective climate protection, we can save part of our glaciers. We are committed to this.
What are we demanding?
Together with POW, we are demanding that Switzerland does not relinquish control of its CO2 reduction. Our country continues to rely heavily on reducing emissions abroad in order to achieve its national climate targets. But that is not enough. To protect our mountains, we need to find and implement solutions here in Switzerland. The new CO₂ Act, which is currently being drafted, is a crucial opportunity to set the course for a Switzerland that is clearly committed to a climate-responsible future.
Together with POW, we are committed to ensuring that climate protection finally takes place in Switzerland. Because the longer we postpone effective measures to reduce greenhouse gases, the more expensive it will be in the future.
