Constructions

Our 4-Season tents are designed for ideal setup in windy and wet conditions. One side of the rainfly reaches all the way down to the ground keeping wind, sand and snow our of the canopy, while a gap on the opposite side allows fresh air in for venting. This reduces carbon monoxide and condensation build up within the tent.

Both sides of our tents are marked with different color coded peg loops for orientation during setup.

The rainfly doors also open up in two parts creating a dry space in the vestibule even with open doors.

All 4-Season and most of our 3-Season tents are designed to allow individual set up of rainfly or canopy. When the rainfly is set up alone it creates a lightweight waterproof shelter. The canopy on ist own offers excellent ventilation and bug protection in mild climates.

A tent needs to be set up and tensioned correctly in order for the combination of rainfly and pole structure to stand up to the elements. Our 4-Season tents feature Exoskeleton (poles in rainfly) design with attached canopy for superior strength.

Our 3-Season tents feature straps on the underside of the rainfly that can be secured to the pole of the canopy to increase rigidity.

During long spells of bad weather, part of the canopy of our 4-Seasons tents can be unhooked and pushed back to create a large protected area.

The guylines feature special buckles that allow stepless adjustment for quick and easy tensioning of the tent. The special hook at the end of the guylines can easily be wrapped around a rock, branch or tree without the need for knots.

Footprint

A tent footprint protects the tent floor from abrasion or damage caused by sharp objects. Our footprints cover the tent floor and parts of the vestibule. They are approximately 10 cm shorter than the tent area to prevent rain from dripping onto the footprint from the rainfly and accumulating under the tent floor. The footprint corners feature a cord and toggle for attachment to the tent or tent pegs. When laying out the footprint make sure the shiny side (coating) looks upwards. Alternatively it can also be used as a small tarp.
