Doublemat Evazote

When fully unfolded, this robust, multi-purpose mat – measuring 2 m long and 1 m wide – serves as a 4 mm-thick insulated ‘tent mat’ (R-value 0.6) or, when folded, as a standard 8 mm Evazote mat (R-value 1.2).

Made from Evazote, a closed-cell EVA (ethylene vinyl acetate) foam optimised for expedition use. Evazote has long been renowned for its extreme durability. Even thorns, sharp crampons or pointed stones are no match for this mat.

You can lay out and fold the mat in a variety of ways. You can also cut it to make insulated insoles, blister plasters, and flotation aids; it can even serve as rain protection.

Its thermal insulation is equivalent to an 8 mm thick Evazote mat (R-value 1.2), but you can significantly increase it by sandwiching clothes, a rucksack, leaves, etc. between the mats.
